YOU AS THE HIRER are liable for all traffic and parking violations. It is also an offence to use a vehicle loaded in excess of its max payload.

MILEAGE CHARGES are 125 miles free per day. Miles above this are charged at 10p per mile.

EXTENSIONS OF RENTAL: If you wish to extend the rental period beyond the time of termination on the rental agreement form it is essential that you inform us in advance so that the insurance can be extended. Also note that if a vehicle is late back a further days payment may be charged.

LUTONS: The hirer accepts he is liable for any damage done to the Luton Box and will pay the full cost of repair.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES will be made up at the end of hire. If you require a receipt please ask when returning vehicle. An admin charge may be required if asked at a later date.

IN THE CASE OF A FAULT We accept responsibility to get you back to the place of hire where if possible another vehicle will be supplied. We do not accept liability for the loss of earnings or money in any form.

INSURANCE: You are reminded that it is essential you provide all material information likely to influence the acceptance and assessment of insurance for your use of our vehicles. If you have any doubts as to whether a fact is material please disclose it.

Drivers and Driving Licences

All drivers must be over 23 and under 70 years of age, free from any serious endorsements and convictions within the last five to ten years, driving more than three years and had no car accidents or claims in the past three years. If you have any of these please contact us for clearance.

Visitors to the UK must have a full international driving license. The hirer will be refused if we have any suspicions or if you cannot comply with the terms and conditions and the deposit will be non refundable.

Identification Required

Every driver that wishes to drive the vehicle must bring their full valid UK driving licence and at least two other forms of identification, one from each following section –

1. Signature ID: either valid passport or credit/debit cards.

2. Proof of Address: either household utility bill or bank statement, dated within the last three months. Any older than three months will not be acceptable.

PLEASE REMEMBER: NO LICENCE AND IDENTIFICATION, NO HIRE

Collection and Return

Vehicles are collected at the time agreed with the lessor. It is the responsibility of the hirer to notify Scenic Self Drive of any delays in collection of the vehicle.

Delays may result in us re-letting the vehicle. Scenic Self Drive Hire hold NO responsibility for any inconvenience caused and no deposit refund given. The vehicle shall be checked round for any damage with the hirer, and if any found, it will then be stated on the hire agreement.

The vehicle is to be returned on the date and time stated on the hire agreement. When returning the vehicle it will be checked in for any damage and if any damage is found you [the hirer] will be liable for the damage excess of £500.00 or stated otherwise on the hire agreement.

Availability

If vehicle is not available for any reason beyond our control, we reserve the rights to refund all payments made without further liability.

Continental Hire

Continental Hire is available for an additional charge and must be notified to us [Scenic Self Drive Hire] on booking the vehicle. Five star breakdown cover is provided at additional charge when taking the vehicle out of the UK. If the cover is not taken out with us and the vehicle has a breakdown, it shall be at the hirer[s] own expense to get the vehicle returned to the UK. No refunds shall be given on the recovery fee, etc.

Breakdowns

In the event of a vehicle breaking down or an accident occurring, Scenic Self Drive Hire shall stand NO liability for additional charges such as accommodation, transportation costs, flights, losses, damage etc. An alternative vehicle shall be supplied but in the event of an alternative vehicle not being available then each day or part thereof, shall be refunded with no further liability, [as long as the accident or breakdown etc. was not your fault]. Minor running repairs, such as tyres, punctures, bulbs, oils and other fluids are the responsibility of the hirer. It is the hirer[s] responsibility to check daily: oil, water and tyre pressures. Any damage arising from failure to do so will be charged to the hirer[s]. Scenic Self Drive Hire does not accept any liability for any loss of earnings, money, etc in any form.
The hirer is liable for breakdown callouts that are classed as the hirer's negligence; contaminated fuel, battery run down, lack of fuel.

Cancellation

If the vehicle is cancelled for any reason or if the hirer does not turn up for collection, then no refund of your deposit shall be given etc.

Fuel

It is the hirer[s] responsibility to bring the vehicle back with the correct amount of fuel as indicated on the hire agreement. Vehicles returned without the correct fuel levels will be subject to a £20.00 Scenic Driver Surcharge plus the cost of the Fuel at current pump prices on that day of return.

Insecure Loads and Overloading

Shall be the responsibility of the hirer.

Rights Reserved

The rights are reserved to vary rates, vehicles, conditions and periods of rental at any time and refuse a rental to any person without giving a reason.

Our prices are inclusive of unlimited mileage, VAT, breakdown [in UK only] and UK insurance.
